The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown Electronic Arts (Interplay)1987The Legend of Skara Brae

Long ago, when magic still prevailed, the evil wizard Mangar the Dark threatened a small but harmonious country town called Skara Brae. Evil creatures oozed into Skara Brae and joined his shadow domain. Mangar froze the surrounding lands with a spell of Eternal Winter, totally isolating Skara Brae from any possible help. Then, one night the town militiamen all disappeared.

The future of Skara Brae hung in the balance. And who was left to resist? Only a handful of unproven young Warriors, junior Magic Users, a couple of Bards barely old enough to drink, and some out of work Rogues.

You are there. You are the leader of this ragtag group of freedom fighters. Luckily you have a Bard with you to sing your glories, if you survive. For this is the stuff of legends. And so the story begins...***

[52]***As guardian of an alien columbarium your job is to protect the ancient warlord's ancient remains from the energy consuming parasites that infest the tomb. This has to be achieved before they suck the tomb's power dry.

Your job is to protect the tomb by collecting all the alien pods located around each level and to destroy them in the pod annihilation chambers. You start the game with a life energy, when this reaches zero you will expire. The tomb shuts down, killing you in the process.

You start the game with 1000 credits (which are used to purchase weaponry) and a full batch of ejectable laser turrets.

Super Off Road  Virgin Games;Mastertronic (Graftgold)1990Enter the world of off-road racing as 4 vehicles will face each other, on a series of tracks which are based around flipped and reversed versions of a core selection. Fame, glory and bikini clad women await your victories and the taste of dirt awaits if you fail. Let a computer car beat you and you lose one of your 3 credits.

Successful races bring more money, which can be used to soup up their machine. Boosts to top speed, grip and acceleration can be purchased, and your nitro boost must be kept topped up. If you are desperate for upgrades, you can buy into your spare credits.

Only your off-road driving abilities will be enough to pull you to first place in these races. Play alone or with up to 3 other players (depending on the version) in this classic arcade game.***

X-Out Rainbow Arts1990X-OUT consists of 8 big worlds, which are populated by crowds of enemies and 8 mighty monsters.
It's your task to free all these worlds of the intruders, and with it the world and your birthday.
All of the alien weapon systems are available to you, because spies were able to steal plans and material from the aliens.
Unfortunately the government isn't generous enough to put this material at your disposal for nothing, they even want cash from you (that's how far capitalism has got in 2019).
So you have to scrape together your last savings to save the world of the claws of evil.***

Moonstone - A Hard Days Knight Mindscape1991A very sacred time is upon the people. A time that descends once every thousand years.

As the Druids will be only too happy to tell you, this is the season of the Moonstones! Danu, the spirit of the moon, has turned his attention away from the activities of the cosmos to those of the earth. It is during such a time that the Gods bestow a fabulous gift to the greatest warrior in the land; a gift of ultimate power!
But first such a warrior would have to prove himself.

Thus, the first warrior to complete "The Quest of the Moonstones" will receive this great blessing.
But any warrior considering such a quest must be prepared to wander the surrounding land, enduring many hardships, risking life and limb all the while.***

Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues  Team171993Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues has Gauntlet-influenced gameplay, similar to the original Alien Breed (and the Alien Breed Special Edition '92), but with many new features. As one of four Interplanetary Corps soldiers, you must visit a remote alien-infested colony and destroy the alien invaders. The game is split into 3 main towers: Civilian, Military, and Science. There are also corridors linking them and outdoor levels. In total there are 17 zones, each featuring numerous different aliens and backgrounds. As you go through the game you collect credits, which can be traded for weapons, ammunition, and other enhancements through the in-game computers. Keys are collected as you progress, which must be used wisely, as there are many rooms containing bonuses that don’t have to be entered. Just like before, the game can be played solo or with a friend.***

Bi-Fi Roll: Snack Zone  Bi-Fi Roll; The Art Department (The Art Department;Touch of Magic)1993Snack Zone is a German-language promotional adventure game. The plot is that secret documents have gone missing from the factory that makes Bi-Fi Rolls (a kind of salami-based snack) and without them, production has been forced to halt, and supplies will run out in a few days. You play the role of a man called Lukas, and it is your responsibility to scour the city and recover these documents as quickly as possible. The game is controlled with the joystick: you can walk left and right, and press up to go through an exit or talk to a character you are standing next to. At the bottom of the screen is a panel that shows the inventory items you are carrying, as well as three stats: your physical energy, your emotional wellbeing, and your snack levels. While completing your main task, you will also need to make sure these stats are kept topped up, which you can do by buying snacks from street kiosks and by helping people you meet solve their problems. labelimagesubject
